Telford Knitters Honored as Partners in Health

The Telford Knitters recently donated $1329.65 to the Foundation and have been officially recognized as Partners in Health by the Foundation for their dedication to the health and well being of our community.  Through the sale of their handcrafted knitting and crocheting projects, the ladies have donated more than $12,800 in support of quality health care in Leduc over the years. Each year, a matching donation is also given to the Leduc & District Senior Centre.

The Telford Knitters are an amazing group to be reckoned with. The ladies, ranging in age from 60 to 97 years young, meet every Thursday morning at the Leduc and District Senior Centre (Telford House) not only to socialize, but to create beautiful, handcrafted items that are sold at annual craft sales at the centre. All funds raised are given back to the community in support of health care and senior wellness.

The ladies note, "All our members, and everybody in Leduc that buys from us, use the hospital at one time or another. We enjoy getting together for our weekly visit while we work on our crafts and are happy to give back in support of the hospital and senior centre."

Colleen Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Foundation adds, "We are grateful for the support of the Telford Knitters over the years. They truly exemplify what it means to make a difference in our community."
