Campaign Goal
$21,500
In 2024–25, the surgical team at Leduc Community Hospital (LCH) performed 2,788 procedures—2,650 of which required intubation. With similar volumes expected in 2025–26, reliable airway equipment is essential.
To meet this need, the Foundation is raising funds for a third GlideScope featuring the advanced C-MAC HD system. This device helps anesthetists safely insert breathing tubes during surgery, offering high-resolution visualization that’s especially useful for patients with complex anatomy.
Currently, two GlideScopes serve three operating rooms, causing workflow delays and coverage gaps. The new model includes disposable blades, cutting down on sterilization time and costs. Its intuitive design and video capabilities also support paramedic training and ongoing staff education.
This upgrade enhances patient safety, improves efficiency, and strengthens professional development for healthcare teams and partners like Leduc EMS/Fire and STARS. Supporting this campaign not only secures life-saving technology, it builds reliability, resilience, and readiness into every airway procedure we perform.
At LCH, this device not only supports our commitment to excellence in patient care, but also serves as a valuable resource for continued professional development.
