Seniors Support Patient Comfort & Staff Wellness

The Foundation was grateful to be the recipient of funds from the disbanded Leduc Senior Aquacise & Swim Club. The Club, established around 1987, consisted of seniors, up to 40 members who met twice a week to swim, exercise and socialize. It was a great way to meet new people and included members from Leduc, Millet, Thorsby and Edmonton.

β€œThe club was a family of people who really looked after one another," explains Joan Convoy. "We would not only meet to swim, exercise, socialize and enjoy a morning coffee, but also enjoy a few potluck events each year."

In 1990, the club obtained society status and helped raise funds to benefit the Leduc pool, including items such as a handicap change table, accessible chairs and exercise equipment for the swim program.

When the society disbanded, the remaining members decided to donate all excess funds to a good cause in the community.

Colleen Zimmerman, Executive Director appreciates the swim club members for thinking of the Foundation and thanks them for their donation.

Your generous donation will make a difference to patient comfort and staff wellness at the Leduc Community Hospital.
